Non-Surgical Lumbar Spinal Disc Decompression Therapy
Independent Chiropractors like myself as well as a large group of Medical Doctors and most multi-disciplinary pain relief focused clinics are proving beyond a doubt that Spinal Decompression Therapy may be your best chance to avoid back or neck surgery. There is a lot more to be said about Spinal Decompression and what it can offer you but the most important thing I can tell you right now is how to find out (for free) if you are a good candidate, how long it will take for the treatments and how much it will cost you. Right? Please read on and I will cover that and more.
How Can Spinal Decompression Therapy Help?
Spinal Decompression Therapy is a "special" name for the effect caused by this traction based treatment where a negative pressure, like a vacuum, is temporary caused inside the disc, that can have a profound effect on the healing process due to increased contact with the blood supply and fibroblast migration (called the phasic effects). This is in addition to the pain relief created neurologically by stretching soft tissue (like stretch receptors and mechanoreceptors) which makes Decompression therapy a logical and viable addition to many pain care regiments. See the diagram below to help you get a visual of how the herniated/bulging disc might look.
When Should You Consider Spinal Decompression Therapy?
The Triton DTS represents the finest Non-Surgical Decompression Traction System available today. The Spinal Decompression Table is designed to apply distraction tension to the patient’s spine without eliciting reflex paravertebral muscle contractions.
Decompression therapy is very affordable and cheaper than surgery. Spinal Decompression/Traction is highly recommended by Neurological Research. It was found that out of 778 cases of patients receiving spinal decompression 92% said that they showed improvement (Neurological Research; Volume 20, Number 3, April 1998).
Disc Decompression, utilizing Decompression & Stabilization, is a unique non-surgical therapy developed for the treatment of chronic lower back pain, herniated discs and degenerative disc diseases.
The Decompression-Reduction-Stabilization therapy is an effective treatment for:
• Herniated Disc
• Degenerative Disc Disease
• Facet Syndrome
• Sciatica
• Post-surgical patients
• Spinal Stenosis
The time to consider it is now. If you are still reading this then it is obvious that you or someone you care about has a problem. It won't cost you anything to find out more, the initial consultation is on me.
Here is a link to the research papers I've been able to find (brief one paragraph synopsis on most as well as links to the full research papers on others)
The last two things I want to discuss are the treatment plan options and the total costs.
The research shows that in most cases a treatment program for a ruptured or herniated disc begins with 20 spinal decompression treatments accomplished in a period of 4 to 6 weeks. This means that when your making a decision to start this program you should to be committed to finishing it. It won't do you any good to do what some patients have done, start treatment... go a week or two then have some stroke of genius and decide that you just know this isn't working because you aren't skipping rope and riding barrel horses again already. It has taken you years to screw your back up as bad as it is now, it will probably take months to restore it and the rest of your life for you to continue to take better care of yourself, this is true whether you treat and rehab with us or have surgery or if you treat anywhere else.
It is your health as well as my reputation on the line here and I take both very seriously, I hope you do too.
There are 3 phases of DTS Therapy Program
What else do you want to know? The cost, right, thought I left that out didn't you.
Spinal Decompression Therapy has been proven to work in many studies as well as in literally hundreds of doctors offices and hospitals all across the country. The Triton DTS machine we use has been proven successful with thousands and thousands of patients nationwide and around the world! But does that guarantee that you will get the same result? Unfortunately not, that is why I encourage you to carefully consider your options.
When you commit to your program of care here the charges are typically about $75 per treatment for Decompression and E-Stim with Ice or Heat. When we add other therapies like Chiropractic Adjusting or Dry Needle Acupuncture to the office visit it is a little more based on what treatment is done. Check out the Fees page for more info.
Please remember that we do not deal with insurance companies and the receipts we provide do not use insurance company codes. It is only $75 to roughly a max or $125 per treatment, there are NO DEDUCTABLES TO MEET, NO COPAYS, NO BILLS WILL COME IN THE MAIL LATER!
When you look at the full 6 week, 20 visit treatment program, that ends up costing about $1500 - that is for the entire program of spinal decompression therapy, and in the beginning it includes modalities like electric muscle stimulation + ice packs and later, when your ready for phase 2 of care that covers physical rehabilitation exercises and instruction in home exercises. And that is assuming your case is really bad and takes the full 20 visits of Lumbar Disc Decompression Therapy to respond. Some patients respond faster, some see drastic pain reduction in as few as 3-6 treatments, this allows us to move to the second phase of care that much faster decreasing your total number of visits and therefore decreasing your overall expense.
Actually more than half of our patients don't come in with "full blown herniated discs" but with some level of disc degeneration that has been causing them misery for years. These type cases respond much faster, often this type patient might feel relief from the first visit, what we have to watch though is that it still takes a considerable amount of time to get the disc to re-hydrate to the point that the results are more permanent. This can get us into the second phase with the rehab early on but then we really have to stay diligent with the decompression treatments so you don't lose what you've gained.
Remember, several payment options are available to you, we take credit cards and offer a discount plan (prepay for 6 visits 7th is free). Please don't let money stand in the way of your return to health. Call, come in and let's discuss it. Give us an opportunity to help you. Please bring your MRI, X-Rays, CT Scans, etc. along with your MRI & X-Ray reports so we can review them together. You don't have to have all of that necessarily but if it has been done already why redo the tests?
If you qualify and are ready we can continue (and if we have time scheduled) and do an orthopedic/neurologic examination to determine clinically how bad of shape you're in, then we may move on to treatment if you approve. Yes we often do that all the same day. Is that straight forward enough for you?
So what do you do now?
The choice is yours, do you do something about your problem or do you just let time and gravity make it worse?
Call the office now and we will schedule you for an initial evaluation, the number is 903-570-7080.
